The National Division (Luxembourgish: Nationaldivisioun, French: Division Nationale, German: Nationaldivision) is Luxembourg’s top division. Until 2011, it was known as the BGL Ligue, after the Luxembourg Football Federation managed to seal a sponsorship deal with Fortis. Prior to 2006 the league contained 12 teams and from season 2006-07 there are 14 teams. In 2020-21, 16 teams played due to no teams being relegated the prior season.
