Jurgen Klopp does not entirely agree with Andrew Robertson’s assessment of the loss to Brighton. Andrew Robertson claims Liverpool are getting worse after the loss to Brighton.

The Reds cannot catch a break this season as things spiral for the 2022 Champions League finalists. It is perhaps their worst season in the last decade, with positive results eluding the Reds consistently. The Anfield side is struggling to get the rub of the green. Jurgen Klopp needs to find solutions to the problems bedevilling the club.

Jurgen Klopp looks like a man out of ideas and has watched helplessly as his team consistently failed to deliver the goods. Liverpool are yet to win any game this year, and it continues to look awry for Klopp.

Klopp may be living on borrowed time, and it may not be long before the fans ask for his head on a platter.

Liverpool are tenth on the Premier League log. They are out of the Carabao Cup, have a vital clash with Real Madrid in the Champions League and on Saturday crashed out of the FA Cup. The loss to Brighton has elicited different reactions from the team, with Klopp not entirely agreeing with Robertson on the assessment of the game.

Klopp disagrees with Robertson

On Saturday afternoon, Liverpool crashed out of another competition. After the 3-0 loss to Brighton in the Premier League a couple of weeks ago, Liverpool lost again to the Seagulls in the FA Cup. The loss compounded the woes of the Reds, who are on course for a season without a trophy.

Jurgen Klopp responded to statements by his defender Andrew Robertson after the loss. According to Klopp, the performance by Liverpool in the 3-0 Premier League loss to Brighton was one of the worst he could remember. The German believes there were good moments this time but agreed that Robertson was right in his assessment of their performance.

Klopp said the statement by Robertson was not 100 per cent true but was not 100 per cent wrong.

Klopp said that after losing to Brighton a few weeks ago, they played better this time but conceded two goals from set-pieces. The German tactician believes it is not allowed in any way.

What Robertson said

Robertson told ITV the loss to Brighton was bitterly disappointing. The Liverpool right-back agreed they were more competitive than two weeks ago, but the bottom line is that they are out of the FA Cup.

He opined that a club like Liverpool should give more because the fans expect a lot.

Robertson said that losing with the last kick of the ball was disappointing, and the team needs to start winning games. According to the full-back, it is easy to say but harder to fix. The defender added that the season had been nowhere near good enough. He opined that the team was not good enough and was out of two cups.

Robertson cannot place a finger on the problem. He continued that it was clear the team was not as confident in front of goal, and in defence, they were a bit open. He added that the team needed to find a way to get their confidence back. According to Robertson, they ought to do it quickly, but things are not looking rosy at the moment.
