The FA Cup 2012-13 is the 132nd season of the world’s oldest football knockout competition; The Football Association Challenge Cup, or FA Cup for short.
833 clubs applied to enter and 758 clubs were accepted for the competition, five fewer than in season 2011-12.

The competition commenced on 11th August 2012 with the Extra Preliminary Round and will conclude on 11th May 2013 with the Final, held at Wembley Stadium. Last season, Chelsea beat Liverpool 2-1.
As is the custom, the Top and Second Flight teams (Premier League & Championship) will enter the competition at the Third Round stage, which will be played in the first week of January 2013.
The FA Cup Winners will qualify for the play-off round of the 2013-14 UEFA Europa League.
