If you’re a fan of all things football then there’s a very good chance that you follow the English Premier League (EPL). Whether you’re in England itself, or anywhere else around the globe, this is the league that attracts the biggest money and the biggest number of spectators. It’s a league that’s like no other.
While the EPL is made up of a diverse range of players who come from an array of countries, it’s not always easy to watch the action. There are restrictions based on your location and this can become extremely frustrating. As you read on, we’re going to explore streaming the Premier League live so that you know exactly how to avoid these frustrations.
A look at Premier League rights
When it comes to catching your favourite EPL team in action, the rights to these matches are split between Sky Sports, BT Sports and, more recently, Amazon. Sky tops the list as it has the right to show 128 matches. Second, it’s BT with the rights to 52. Coming in third, it’s Amazon which is allowed to show 20 matches.
Sky Sports goes beyond the EPL as it also shows other English leagues. BT has a package of European games alongside the EPL so there are plenty of reasons to tune in. The problem with these on-demand services is the fact that they’re restricted depending on your location.
The benefits of using a virtual private network (VPN)
It could be that you’re travelling when it’s time for your EPL team to play a vital match. If this travel sees you going overseas, then you’re not going to be able to take advantage of your usual service. That’s because the broadcaster knows exactly where you are thanks to your IP address.
It can be hugely frustrating when you know that you’ve paid for a top-notch package, only to find yourself being blocked because you’ve chosen to travel. This has led to people looking for illegal feeds so that they can stay up to date. The problem here is that the quality is horrendous and, of course, it means you’re breaking the law.
The workaround to ensure that you never miss out on the action is a VPN. By using a VPN, you have a private connection that goes from your device to the internet. This means that the service is unable to work out your location. All of the information that’s passed is fully encrypted and this avoids your provider from blocking you.
What device can I use?
If you want to use a VPN to stream the EPL, you can do this by using a TV or console that will allow you to install one. This device will need to be an Android one. If you want to stream the action onto a large screen, it’s possible to use an HDMI cable to connect your computer to the TV. You also have the option to mirror your screen or even add a VPN to your router.
Regardless of the option that you go for, you can be sure of top-quality streaming, all while staying on the right side of the law.
